The cat is in the area by the entrance to the Breach, where the ghostly parents are at. If you don't have the skill you could always buy it from the trader in Ascalon.

The quest guy (can't remember his name) should have provided you with the skill when you first talked to him.

I don't think that's true. The wiki page that you linked to states that Charm Animal is given as a reward, not upon taking the quest. It appears that the only way the OP can finish the quest is to first buy the skill from a trainer.

I think it's funny that the reward for the quest is the skill you need to complete the quest.

There's a skill trainer in Ascalon city he should have the skill, his name is Sir Bertran. If you already unlocked it, it's available anywhere.

I retract and bow to all I have offended in any way. I was not trying to be offensive. Play Ranger as you will and enjoy.

rangers worthless? You obviously know not what you speak of. As for stances not working against a spell, they NEVER have, excerpt that whirling will give you energy for taking elemental damage while under it.

Psst! That's storm chaser Whirling will damage adjacent foes instead...

I love my ranger and I wouldn't give her up for the world. This is the 2nd post in quick succession in irrelevant threads I've seen by Cyane dissing them

This is truly utterly nonsense.
Just check the replies here and those given in the thread about rangers stances, then you know why.

Even looked at R/Me UW solo trapping ? Tell me again rangers are worthless.

Oh, what about the famine rangers around dual farming with 55 monks in UW and DoA ? Again, tell me rangers are worthless.

I think a lot of B/P's in Tombs will disagree with the comment about rangers becoming worthless......

Let's start with PvP? Hundreds of guilds including top 10 guilds use a Burning Arrow Ranger, then there is ranger spike, condition/pressure, etc, moving on to PvE, b/p groups, enough said.
Touch rangers are brainless and useless in PvP.
I'd tell you to learn how to play the game but I guess you already got that covered by other people in these 2 threads (see below).

I will agree with everyone else on this and not only because the character I play the most is my Ranger. Rangers are not dead. Just like every other class, there are plenty of uses for them. Some that quickly jump to my head:
1. UW Trapping
2. GvG Ganking (yay for Burning Arrow)
3. Running (which profession has the most runnning skills? If you say Ranger then Johnny is going to tell you what you've won)
4. Interrupting. (Sure makes fighting Glint a lot easier or even doing Boreas Seaboard). Interrupts in PvP? I don't think I have ever heard that one before *sarcasm*

There is a crapload more. I'm sure you are starting to get the idea. I like to think of it this way: What can other professions do that a Ranger can't also do?

Now as far as Expertise goes...I feel that it is one of the most useful and dependent primary profession attribute out there for any of the professions. Energy Storage is up at the top as well. Rangers don't do the highest damage, they don't have the highest armor and other things, but I think a lot of people agree that they are one of the most versatile and self sufficient classes in the game (you can easily make a great Ranger build using only Ranger skills if you wanted to). Overall, the Ranger is a fairly well-rounded class. When going into a town or whatever, I see just as many Rangers as I do any other profession (minus the Mesmer). Going to Observe Mode and watching some matches shows that I'm not lieing either. I think you are far out on this one.

What in the bloody hell, are you pulling our leg? Look at your own avatar, it's a ranger.

I won't quote Cyane again because....well, because everyone else already has. I'd just like to add that I agree with what everyone replied to him and, the OP didn't ask opinions about rangers, just the charm animal skill.

Looks to me like someone is trying to jack up their post count.
